Gerald Riggs is a former professional American football player who played as a running back in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on November 6, 1960, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Riggs played college football at the University of Arizona before being selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the first round of the 1982 NFL Draft. He played for the Falcons from 1982 to 1988 and then for the Washington Redskins from 1989 to 1991.

Throughout his career, Riggs rushed for a total of 8,188 yards and scored 69 rushing touchdowns. He was a three-time Pro Bowl selection and was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 1982.

After retiring from football, Riggs has worked as a football analyst and commentator. He is also involved in various charitable activities and initiatives to support underserved communities and youth in sports.
